What does “learning together” mean to us?
Learning Together is all about sharing ideas, analyzing them, synthesizing them, remixing them, and bouncing them all over the place. After all, if, as David Weinberger notes, “The smartest person in the room is the room,” then shouldn’t we celebrate being part of that room? The “room” of education is vast and labyrinthine – bringing together different parts and ideas from both inside and outside the world of education can only add to the fun and fascination most of us in the field already feel when it comes to both our own learning and that of our students.
We hope some of the ideas on this blog will inspire people to try something new, both in and out of the classroom. Better yet, we hope it will inspire people to try something old, or something different, or something familiar combined with something new, or vice versa. Variety is the spice of teaching; the more tools and approaches, the better. We believe that teachers are learners, learners are teachers, and we’re all just trying to figure it out, so let’s do that together and have some fun along the way.
